Traveling to Mexico

As of September 2021, there is no mandatory proof of a negative COVID-19 test to travel to Mexico or any other requirements (and we do not expect that change). However, we strongly recommend getting a COVID-19 test before your flight to Todos Santos out of an abundance of precaution. Please see here and here for more information on traveling to Mexico.

Returning to the United States

As a reminder, a negative COVID-19 test is required to fly back into the United States and the United Kingdom from Mexico (or any foreign country for that matter). 

According to the CDC, all travellers returning to the US will be required to get a PCR or Antigen test within 3 days of their departure flight. Passengers are also required to provide written documentation of their laboratory test result (paper or electronic copy) to the airline. This is typically done during the check-in process.

There are three ways to get validated tests:

• Recommended - Purchase Abbott BinaxNow Ag At-Home Test Kit

  • Take the test at your hotel or Airbnb and verify results over video chat 

  • The entire process takes ~15 minutes

  • These tests can be purchased online:

    • Takes ~3 days to be delivered

    • $150 for 6 tests

  • PLEASE NOTE: make sure the test says “Ag At-Home” this is the only one that will be accepted at the airport.

• Second Best Option - Get tested at St. Jude’s Medical Center in Todos Santos

  • Results are emailed ~45 minutes after the test

  • Tests are ~$40

• Get tested at the airport (SJD)

  • Antigen tests are $20, PCR tests are $70.

  • Anticipate ample time in planning your departure

  • Testing is open from 8:30AM-4PM daily or, when the airport is open.
